The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California Classification and Rating Committee is meeting virtually on Tuesday.
Committee members will discuss the results of an in-depth review of the classification code for food and beverage operations, one of the largest in the state and accounting for 6% of premium and 7.7% of policies in 2019.
Based on the analysis, the WCIRB is considering including in its 2023 regulatory filing a recommendation to split classification 9079 into several new codes for bars and taverns, caterers, restaurants and hotels.
