Draft Bill Would Require Periodic Increase in Burial Expenses

Montana regulators would be required to adjust the maximum burial expense paid for occupational deaths every five years under a draft bill. The measure currently identified as Legislative Concept 2927, requested by Rep. Derek Harvey, D-Butte, would order the Department of Workforce Services to adjust burial expenses based on cost-of-living changes published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
