A Wisconsin food product manufacturer that allegedly did not protect workers from machinery that could start up during service and maintenance faces $103,600 in fines from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
OSHA on Oct. 30 issued citations for one willful, 12 serious and one other-than-serious health and safety violations to IPMF LLC in Beloit. The company did not use locking devices to prevent unintentional operation during service and maintenance, which exposed workers to moving machine parts. IPMF also allowed employees to work on live electrical circuits.
