Truck Driver Gets Benefits for Accident With Unknown Cause

The Kansas Court of Appeals upheld an award of benefits to a truck driver for his injuries from a single-vehicle accident with no known cause. Case: Stepter v. LKQ Corp., No. 117,002, 10/06/2017, unpublished. Facts: Michael Ray Stepter worked for the LKQ Corp. as a truck driver. In June 2013, the company rented a truck for him to deliver car parts to repair shops in western Kansas. Stepter crashed the truck at around 1:30 p.m. on June 19, 2013.
