A garden center in Houston was fined $117,000 Monday for failing to report a worker injury requiring hospitalization and for some 16 violations, including two repeat and 13 serious offenses, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration said.
The fines and citations were issued after an inspection at Quality Christmas Tree Ltd., doing business as Houston Garden Center, OSHA said.
OSHA said it inspected the business after receiving a complaint in December and determined an employee fell from a container hoisted aloft by a forklift.
