Prosecutors Charge Labor Contractor With Insurance Fraud

A Ventura County man has been charged with insurance fraud after he allegedly kept health and disability benefits from injured workers and failed to notify his carrier after employees suffered on-the-job injuries, prosecutors said. Labor contractor Robert Zermeno Delara, 49, of Fillmore, faces seven felony counts stemming from injuries suffered at businesses he owns, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.  Delara allegedly lied to injured workers to discourage them from seeking medical care, according to the news release.
