West Virginia AG Sues Drug Distributor Over Alleged Suspicious Shipments

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has filed a lawsuit against pharmaceutical distributor McKesson Corp., accusing the company of not stopping shipments of narcotics into the state even though the large quantities being delivered should have been identified as suspicious. According to the eight-count civil complaint filed in Boone Circuit Court on Jan. 8, McKesson sent 46 million doses of hydrocodone and 54 million doses of oxycodone to West Virginia, for a total of 99 million doses, over a six-year period from 2007 to 2012.
