Governor Signs Bill Limiting Coverage for Work-From-Home Injuries

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed into law a bill establishing criteria for determining the compensability of work-from-home injuries. DeWine on June 24 signed HB 447. To have a compensable claim under the bill, the following criteria must be met: A person working from his or her home must suffer an injury arising out of employment. The injury must be sustained in the course of an activity undertaken for the exclusive benefit of the employer. The injury or disability must be caused by a special hazard of the employment activity.
