LOS ANGELES – Former California state Sen. Ronald S. Calderon on Monday was unable to persuade a federal judge to push back the start of his criminal trial yet again.
Federal prosecutors have thrice consented to postponements, but they are protesting Calderon's request for a fourth extension.
Trial is supposed to get underway before U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder on Aug. 11.
