A federal appellate court held a Pennsylvania poultry processor in contempt for failing to pay $162,359 in penalties for workplace safety violations following an Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspection.
OSHA cited Birdsboro Kosher Farms Corp. for violations related to lockout/tagout requirements and failure to provide personal protective equipment, including hearing protection.
The company, based in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, contested the citation before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission to no avail. An administrative judge affirmed the penalties in 2019.
