Injured Worker Caught Playing Hockey Sentenced for Fraud

An amateur hockey goalie who claimed he was too injured to work was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay $12,110.88 in restitution for workers’ compensation fraud. Samuel Spina, 45, of Rome, previously had pleaded guilty to insurance fraud in the fifth degree.
