Investigators and fraud watchdogs are warning that employers could soon see a spike in fraudulent or exaggerated workers' compensation claims as some employees face layoffs and others work at home.
“It depends on the industry, but already we're hearing from companies that have been inundated with claims,” said Michael Teti, managing partner at DigiStream Investigations, which has offices in 16 U.S. cities.
