Successful workers' compensation fraud prosecutions are rising dramatically in Florida, even as the number of files opened has dropped from a high of five years ago, according to the state Division of Insurance Fraud's annual report, released Tuesday.
A total of 452 successful prosecutions were brought by the division in the year ending June 30, 2015, the report says. That was up from 199 successful prosecutions in the 2009/2010 fiscal year.
