The state Senate Appropriations Committee will review potential cost implications for a pair of bills that would create statutory presumptions that COVID-19 is a compensable condition in California, during a hearing that starts at 9 a.m. on Monday.
Committee members will review Assembly Bill 196 and Assembly Bill 664 during Monday’s hearing.
AB 196, by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, D-San Diego, would create a conclusive presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for all workers other than law enforcement, firefighters and health care employees.
