Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Friday announced his desire to consolidate the state’s anti-fraud efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Pritzker, a Democrat, disclosed his plans in a statement declaring that the methods his Office of Management and Budget identified to make the state’s government more efficient will save $225 million in the fiscal year starting in 2021.
In addition to already budgeted savings, the governor said his administration will explore consolidating operations among some state agencies. This includes fraud-fighting efforts.
