Lawmakers Making Another Pass at PTSD Benefits for 1st Responders

Florida lawmakers are again pursuing legislation that would make first responders eligible for benefits if they suffer post-traumatic stress disorder, despite a general exclusion in state law for mental injuries that are not accompanied by a physical ailment. Rep. Matt Willhite, D-Wellington, on Oct. 3 introduced House Bill 227. The bill was referred to the House Oversight and Government Accountability committees.  Sen.
