In Marquez v. Martorina Family and IPSA Corp. (decided June 17, 2016), claimant was assisting in roof repairs on a commercial building. He got knocked in the noggin by a falling board at a job site in Chicago. It appears he and his attorneys settled the workers' compensation claim pretty much on the cheap — he got only $12,500. When his popular plaintiff's attorney sued two of the contractors on the construction job, the Circuit Court judge granted separate motions for summary judgment filed by both defendants.
