Injury claims reported by private self-insured employers increased last year, but the growth was outpaced by the increase in covered workers, resulting in a marginal decrease in frequency of both indemnity and medical-only claims, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute reported.
In 2019, private self-insured employers recorded 85,882 claims, up 2.4% compared to the 83,903 claims recorded in 2018.
