A former firefighter who pleaded guilty to workers’ compensation fraud last year will pay more than $228,000 in fines and restitution, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
Perry Adam Lieber, 31, of Santa Barbara, pleaded guilty Dec. 7 to lying in order to obtain disability benefits during a workers’ comp claim stemming from his employment with the Ventura County Fire Department, prosecutors said in a news release.
A judge ordered Lieber to pay $198,025 in restitution and $30,000 in additional criminal fines, the DA’s Office said.
