A divided U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Tuesday vacated a jury's $870,000 award to a group of workers who lost their jobs after drug tests ordered by their employer revealed they were taking prescription medications.
The workers all allegedly had documented medical needs for their prescriptions and were taking the drugs under the supervision of their respective doctors, but Dura Automotive Systems told them they could not return to their jobs unless they stopped taking their medications.
