The percentage of cumulative injury cases in California has more than doubled over the past 10 years and now accounts for nearly one out of every five indemnity claims, according to the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau.
About 18% of indemnity claims filed in 2014 involve a cumulative injury, the WCIRB reported in an analysis of claim frequency, published late Thursday. From 2005 to 2007, cumulative trauma was alleged in only about 8% of indemnity claims.
