A federal appellate court upheld a postal worker’s criminal convictions based on his failure to report his paid and volunteer work with his labor union. Case: U.S. v. Rivera-Ortiz, No. 19-1100, 09/21/2021, published. Facts: Ricardo Rivera-Ortiz worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mechanic. He suffered injuries in a fall at work in May 2005. Rivera-Ortiz filed a claim for benefits under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act with the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs.
