California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara on Friday extended through May an order requiring insurance companies to return partial premiums to provide financial relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lara’s earlier order required carriers to provide premium adjustments for March and April in six insurance lines that include workers’ compensation.
Bulletin 2020-4, extending the requirement through May, directs carriers to provide the premium adjustment in the form of a credit, reduction or return as soon as possible and no later than Aug. 11.
