Insurers May Be Eligible for Credit of Provider Network Registration Fee

Insurers are not required to pay a registration fee for preferred provider networks that they assemble without the help of an administrator, the Illinois Department of Insurance has determined. Insurers who have previously submitted payments for administrator fees will be reimbursed, the department said in a bulletin issued on Monday. The fees include an initial new administrator fee of $1,000, followed by a $500 renewal fee each year.
