The federal government has intervened in a fraud lawsuit against a Florida compounding pharmacy owner after the pharmacy allegedly bilked the military health care program out of millions.
In an intervention complaint filed June 30, the government alleges that the Tampa pharmacy RS Compounding charged Tricare at least 2,000% more for drugs than it charged cash-paying customers.
In one case, the pharmacy allegedly charged Tricare 10,000% more for a compounded drug than it charged the cash payer.
