DeWine Asks Drugmakers to Fund New Opioid Initiatives

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking drugmakers and distributors to fund a 12-point plan to combat the state’s opioid epidemic, which includes creating a position with Cabinet-level authority that would be solely devoted to solving the crisis. DeWine this week sent a letter to opioid manufacturers Purdue Pharma, Endo Health Solutions, Teva, Johnson & Johnson, and Allergan. DeWine filed suit against the companies in May, accusing them of fraudulent marketing that has helped fuel the opioid crisis.
