Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking drugmakers and distributors to fund a 12-point plan to combat the state’s opioid epidemic, which includes creating a position with Cabinet-level authority that would be solely devoted to solving the crisis.
DeWine this week sent a letter to opioid manufacturers Purdue Pharma, Endo Health Solutions, Teva, Johnson & Johnson, and Allergan. DeWine filed suit against the companies in May, accusing them of fraudulent marketing that has helped fuel the opioid crisis. He is giving them 30 days to come forward and begin settlement solutions.
