Committee Passes Bills to Create Good-Faith Obligation, Allow 911 Operators to Claim PTSD

A policy committee in the Washington state House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow 911 dispatchers to file mental stress claims, and another measure that would increase employer penalties and creates an obligation to engage in fair conduct when handling claims. The House Committee on Labor and Workplace Standards on Thursday passed House Bill 2758 and House Bill 2409 on party-line votes, with four Democrats supporting the measures and three Republicans opposed.
