The Montana State Fund board of directors on Friday declared a $30 million dividend the carrier said will be paid by mid-November.
The 2019 dividend represents a return of about 22% of premium paid and follows back-to-back $40 million dividends in 2018 and 2017.
Dividends are the result of investment returns and losses that were better than expected, MSF said.
Montana is among the states with the highest number of workplace injuries and fatalities, and paying dividends to the safest policyholders helps reinforce the need to run a safe workplace.
