Kroger Cited After Butcher Loses Fingertip in Meat Saw

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Cincinnati Kroger Co. grocery store after one of its butchers lost his fingertip in a meat saw. OSHA inspected the store after the incident and issued one serious and one repeat violation citation, and proposed penalties of $45,000. It was cited for a repeat violation for not adjusting a guard on a meat-cutting saw to the thickness and height of the meat being cut.
