Business Owner Gets 5 Years in $5.6 Million Payroll Fraud Scheme

The owner of a Southern California paving company and property management firm was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to insurance fraud for underreporting millions of dollars in payroll, according to a report by the Orange County Register. Darrin S. Wilson, 52, on Thursday pleaded guilty to insurance fraud with a sentencing enhancement for a white collar crime of more than $500,000, the Register reports.
