The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced that a man who failed to disclose he was the owner of a company while receiving temporary disability benefits was ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution.
Thomas Tomson started a new business, Bulldog Services, where he worked and received income while collecting permanent total disability benefits, the BWC said. The company was later sold and operated under the name Kirk’s Business, and Thomson continued to work there.
