A bill designed to give small businesses a break on first-time regulatory violations is on its way to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, six months after it was approved by the New York Legislature.
Assembly Bill A7540B specifically names the state Workers' Compensation Board as an agency to be included in the law, which would require agencies to avoid fines and penalties, and give employers a chance to cure the deficiency on a first offense.
