California Senate President Toni Atkins amended her bill that would reduce the time employers have to accept liability for workers’ compensation claims to remove provisions involving claims for COVID-19 that conflict with part of another pending measure.
Senate Bill 1127 would require employers to accept or deny liability for certain injuries that are presumed compensable within 75 days instead of the 90 days they currently have. The bill initially proposed a 75-day investigation period for claims described in Labor Code Sections 3212 through 3212.85 and for 3212.87 through 3213.2.
