The U.S. economy lost 300 insurance jobs in August, according to preliminary numbers in a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report.
Employment growth seems to be slowing within the insurance industry, said Jay Rollins, owner of the insurance employment website InsuranceJobs.com.
Over the past year, the insurance industry has added 31,900 jobs, down from the 42,800 jobs added during the previous period, Rollins noted. Since the beginning of the year, the insurance industry has added an average of 2,500 jobs a month.
