Supreme Court Clarifies Filing Requirements for Claims for Survivor's Benefits

The Connecticut Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that a worker's widow did not need to file a notice of claim for survivor's benefits after the worker's death since her late husband had filed a timely claim for disability benefits during his lifetime. In its decision for McCullough v. Swan Engraving, the court unanimously ruled that the timely filing of any claim for benefits under the Workers' Compensation Act satisfies the limitation period for all potential claims under the act.
