Q3 Net Income Dives 58% at Old Republic

Old Republic International Corp. has reported a 58% decrease in third quarter net income, which fell to $46.1 million from $111 million in the prior-year quarter. For the first nine months of the year, net income was $261 million, down 22% from $335 million in the same period last year. In the general insurance group, net premiums earned were up 9.5% in the third quarter, to $801 million.
