A cap on the duration that injured workers can receive temporary total disability benefits and a closed pharmacy formulary could help Louisiana control its workers’ compensation claim costs for state employees, according to a report from the state Legislative Auditor.
Auditor Daryl Purpera’s report, released Monday, examined state comp claims from fiscal years 2006 to 2013 and made recommendations both to the Legislature and state agencies to help arrest a nearly 50% increase in costs during that period.
