State Moves Ahead in Race to Bring Portable Benefits to Gig Workers

Legislation that would create a system of portable benefits for gig economy workers — including workers’ comp coverage — is moving forward in the New Jersey Legislature. Assembly Bill 4705 was approved this month by two Assembly committees: Labor and Appropriations.
