Governor Orders Comp Coverage for Sick, Quarantined First Responders and Med Workers

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed an executive order Wednesday providing indemnity and medical benefits to first responders, law officers and medical workers who are diagnosed with COVID-19. North Dakota's state-run, monopolistic comp system does not normally cover viruses as occupational diseases. Burgum's order also provides up to 14 days of wage replacement benefits for medical workers who are quarantined.
