A farmworker who failed to disclose two previous back injuries during an exam with a qualified medical evaluator was ordered to pay $3,500 in restitution, perform 160 hours of community service and placed on probation for three years, according to investigative firm Probe Information Services.
Charles Maldonado Romero, 49, was not convicted of filing a false claim or making a fraudulent statement, however. He pleaded no contest and was convicted Nov. 27 to one count of false impersonation, Probe said.
