Berkshire Hathaway’s Guard Insurance has purchased a high-rise building in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, for its corporate headquarters.
Guard is already headquartered in Wilkes-Barre but was in search of a larger space. Guard, which offers workers’ compensation and other insurance coverage, has grown its business by more than $1 billion and doubled its workforce in the past five years, according to a news release from Pennsylvania state Sen. John Yudichak, D-Luzerne/Carb.
