One of the largest roofing companies in Washington state forced workers to pay for their own personal fall protection equipment and failed to train them on how to use the safety gear properly, according to the Department of Labor and Industries.
The department said it fined the Roof Doctor Inc. in Olympia $427,000 for six willful, one serious and one general violation for failing to protect workers from fall hazards.
