L&I: Modeling Work Leads to Fraud Charges for Former Police Chief

A former police chief is facing fraud charges for allegedly working as a photographer and model while claiming she was unable to work because of an occupational injury, the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced. Brenda Lynn Cavoretto, 47, was police chief of Coulee City in February 2012 while removing a 285-pound corpse that was hanging in a tree.
