ORLANDO, Fla. – Workers' compensation market trends have improved in recent years, actuaries said after kicking off the National Council on Compensation Insurance's annual conference on Thursday.
But they also offered a word of caution: Nothing lasts forever. "Calm now, but turbulence ahead," was the catch phase that NCCI used to describe the market during its State of the Line report.
Stephen J. Klingel, president and chief executive officer of NCCI, opened the Annual Issues Symposium with an analogy comparing the workers’ compensation industry to air travel.
