The scandal at State Compensation Insurance Fund prompted a California state senator to withdraw legislation that would allow the carrier to sell group health insurance, but another bill filed for the same purpose is moving through the state Assembly.
Senate Bill 723 by Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, was scheduled for a hearing before the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee on Wednesday, but Yee withdrew the bill because of the ongoing investigation into State Fund finances, said his chief of staff, Janelle Beland.
