Auto Parts Maker Cited for Alleged Amputation Hazards

Federal safety officials have accused an Alabama auto parts manufacturer of willfully exposing its workers to amputation risks and other hazards. Daeil USA Corp. was cited on Jan. 28 for 17 alleged safety violations by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration. The company faces proposed penalties of $171,870. The citations arose from an OSHA inspection on July 29-30 at Daeil’s facility in Valley, Alabama, as part of the agency’s Regional Emphasis Program on Safety in the Auto Industry.
