Insurers came out Wednesday against a House bill that would reward employers with potentially lower premiums if they filed safety and return-to-work programs approved by regulators.
HB 2645, by Rep. William Davis, D-East Hazel Crest, would make safety and return-to-work programs voluntary but would give compliant employers recalculated advisory and assigned risk pool premium rates.
The Department of Insurance would be tasked with directing the National Council on Compensation Insurance to refigure the rates for employers with approved plans, the bill states.
