An Arkansas masonry contractor faces $41,580 in penalties by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration for exposing workers to scaffolding hazards.
OSHA cited ABC Equipment Inc., which does business as C.B. Masonry, for six serious violations:
Failing to plank platforms fully, and for failing to support the planks properly.
Using block as improvised counterweights for the scaffolding.
Not having toe boards on the scaffolding to protect workers below.
Missing guardrails and improper access to the scaffolds.
Exposing workers to falls from an unguarded surface.
