A bill prefiled this week in the New York Assembly would require that workers' compensation insurers pay pharmacists' bills within 45 days or face interest penalties.
Assembly Bill 242, sponsored by Assemblymember Kevin Cahill, D-Ulster, has been assigned to the Labor Committee ahead of the 2019 session that begins today. It would include pharmacists in the prompt-pay provision of the Workers' Compensation Law, which already allows physicians to seek 1.5% interest per month on bills.
