A bill to prevent employers from reducing benefits to injured workers enrolled in vocational rehabilitation programs became law last week without the governor's signature.
LD 612, by Rep. Ryan Fecteau, D-Biddeford, was enacted on Wednesday.
The bill removes a statutory presumption that work is unavailable to injured workers while they are enrolled in vocational rehab programs.
It adds language forbidding employers from revoking an injured workers' benefits while workers participate in such programs unless the employee:
